ABOUT JEROEN
From hobby
towards craftsmanship.
What started as a fascination with knives grew into a profession where I can express my creativity and love for the craft every day.

It started with one knife.
My fascination with knives did not begin with the idea of making it my profession. It started simply because I found it beautiful to discover how a piece of steel slowly transformed into something you can use every day.
What started as a hobby became increasingly serious. I wanted to understand how steel behaves, how a blade takes its shape, and how much difference there is in a good finish. I kept learning, experimenting, and above all, making a lot.

Van staal naar mes. Met de hand.
Every JKNIFE knife starts with an idea and a piece of steel. This is followed by a process of shaping, sharpening, sanding, heat treatment, and finishing. No mass production and no rushed work, but attention to every step. It is precisely that time and attention that make the difference to me. The end result must not only be beautiful, but above all a knife that fits well in the hand, cuts smoothly, and is made to last.
Behind every JKNIFE knife is not a factory or a large team, but a single maker. I design, make, sharpen, and finish every knife myself.
That means I am involved with every knife from start to finish. And that is exactly what I love about working on a small scale: I know where a knife comes from, how it is made, and ultimately, who it ends up with.
The face behind
the craft.

From my studio in Sittard, I work on new knives, sharpen knives for clients, and share my knowledge of the craft during workshops. A small place where steel, wood, whetstones, and ideas come together.
Made in Sittard.

Made by hand. Made to last.
